Critical Race Theory is the New Racism
By Susan Batalska – Under Review
Recently, a new interpretation of America and its history has surfaced and is increasingly being taught in American public schools. Critical Race Theory (CRT) is the ideology that all White people are oppressors and all Black people are oppressed because of the history of slavery in America. The Biden Administration is pushing for this idea to be taught in the K-12 civics curriculum of the public education system and can be taught to as low as third graders. Many parents are angry about this curriculum as it teaches children discriminatory values such as the separation of people by race. It teaches children that because of the color of their skin, they are either the oppressors or the oppressed. Constitutional expert Thomas K. Lindsay believes that CRT is the new racism when he says that, “…they’re telling third grade children that because of the color of their skin they are the oppressors, meaning that because of the color of their skin, they’re bad. Now I’m old, and that used to be called racism. Unfortunately, Critical Race Theory is the new racism”. This type of education directly violates the Civil Rights Act because the entire purpose of the Civil Rights Act was to eradicate the discimination of someone based on their skin color. The CRT’s ideology teaches discrimination based on skin color. Chinese American Citizens Alliance published a report on Critical Race Theory and stated that CRT ideology was heavily influenced by hate promoters such as Marx, Lenin, and Gramsci. Karl Marx said in his communist manifesto “The history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggles.” In America in the 40th, 50th, and 60th the class struggle was replaced by the race struggle, because the American society was too large and life was too good for class struggles.
The movement’s main dogmas consist of racist ideas such as:
You are not a person. You are only your race and by your race alone you will be judged.
All unequal outcomes by race are the result of racial oppression.
All Blacks are oppressed and all Whites are oppressors. This is systemic, don’t ask whether the oppression occurred or not, only how it occurred.
If you are White and won’t admit that you are racist, you are racist by implicit bias.
To reduce implicit bias you must self-criticize, confess to privilege, and apologize to the oppressed race.
To Lindsay, the worst part of all is how condescending and demeaning to African Americans CRT is. Critical Race Theory defines the term ‘whiteness’ as the belief in achievement, delayed gratification, progress, schedules and deadlines, meritocracy, race-blindness, the written word, facts and objectivity, logic and reasoning, and mathematics and science. This definition implies that Black people are not capable of achieving such things while White people are. Critical Race Theory is inherently racist in its progressive ideas and is dangerous when taught to younger generations, because the children of America will one day become a part of American legislature and shape America’s future based on what they were taught at schools years ago.
